Psalm 121

I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!

3 He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps.

5 The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
6 The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.

7 The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.

Hey guys

So I was watching something on God TV and Pastor J John was speaking. He was talking about evangelizing. He said its not just about preaching the word but sowing, caring and effective prayer is all part of it too.

He wrapped it up by saying if we all do this think of the amazing change in peoples life's. I know for me that really spoke to me and think of peoples life's we can change.

Below is one of my favorite versus from peter. When I have a challenging week especially with people I look at this verse and it switches things around. I think you showed it to me J cheers bro.

Anyway have a lovely and blessed day

1 Peter 5

Advice for Elders and Young Men
1 And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you: 2 Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. 3 Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. 4 And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.

5 In the same way, you younger men must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, serve each other in humility, for

“God opposes the proud
but favors the humble.”[a]

6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters[b] all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.

10 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. 11 All power to him forever! Amen.

Peter’s Final Greetings
12 I have written and sent this short letter to you with the help of Silas,[c] whom I commend to you as a faithful brother. My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace.

13 Your sister church here in Babylon[d] sends you greetings, and so does my son Mark. 14 Greet each other with Christian love.[e]

Peace be with all of you who are in Christ.

Isaiah 43

From Brett:

Isaiah 43

6 I will say to the north, 'Give them up!'
and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.'
Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the ends of the earth-

7 everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made."

Breakin it down :-)

everyone who is called by my name,

God has called me by name. When I think about this it brings an amazing feeling of self worth and acceptance that the God who created the universe would call me by name. It makes me feel so secure that he has called me by my own name that he would know my name to start with and then choose me.

whom I created for my glory,

He created me for his glory. He created me to shine the goodness of God in this world. To show people that there is a God in heaven who loves them so much

whom I formed and made

Wow. This changes everything. To know that it wasn't by accident. That I am designed formed and made by God himself. That he has all the resources under heaven to make me with. This gives such an amazing feeling of self worth. To know it was God himself who formed me. That he sees me as nothing short of perfect as he saw his son Jesus. Change me lord to help me see myself how God sees me. Formed and made by the creator of the universe

Have an awesome Saturday and see you in the house tomorrow.

Proverbs challenge

hey guys and gals!
how are you?

J and I serve in the New Christians team on church and they are doing the 'proverbs challenge' - read a chapter a day from proverbs...31 chapters for ~31 days per month.

Jono from our team shared this with the group yesterday and I though it would be nice to pass on - enjoy and see you folks tonight at johnny's....100 mt pleasant road, Lewisham for a 7pm start!

Love you all

Hey gang. Thanks to Swain for explaining the challenge. I had NOOO
idea this what everyone was going on about. Lesson is: "Go to team
brief!"

I read Proverbs 22 this morning (from a very wet, cold Germany) and it
hit me wam, wam, wam - like listening to Joseph Prince speak on the
Old Testament.
3 A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge,
but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
4 Humility and the fear of the Lord
bring wealth and honor and life.
5 In the paths of the wicked lie thorns and snares,
but he who guards his soul stays far from them.
...
28 Do not move an ancient boundary stone
set up by your forefathers.

These verses were particularly helpful to me and got me thinking.
Everyday, we navigate the path God has set before us - full of
opportunities and pitfalls (that's the Devil by the way). Are we
humble enough to trust God and admit that we aren't strong enough?
Wow, I wish I'd run the other way a few times.

Verse 28 sounded like a bell -- our parents and those wiser than us,
God himself, put boundaries in place to protect us -- keep us from
dealing things God never intended. Do we even know where they are any
more?

Drink deeply from His word and you'll always have a word in season for
a friend, courage in the shadow and more grace than your soul can even
contain!!

God bless,

Jono

Running

Hi all, just introducing myself, I'm Michele Ria's friend from Trinidad, one of the new contributors. Blessings to you all.
Just some meat to chew on, I was reading 1Cor.9: 24-27. The NKJV says: "do you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it,(v.24). Now I love the NKJV, but the NLT brings out those verse in a whole new way. Same verse "Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win.(v.25) All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. "Strict self-control", this really had me thinking especially about my walk with Christ, do i practice "strict self-control"? Not always, in fact i fail at this a lot. Sometimes as believers we forget at times that we are called to be self disciplined, it takes discipline to serve Christ, read his word, pray, witness, be faithful to your local church and each other. We get distracted and just like in a race, you can fall, hurt yourself, become tired, give up. I like the next verse: (v.26) So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who misses his punches. Wow, to be an athlete it takes real commitment and purpose. So it is with us, I must have purpose in every step, how many of us when we're in a situation, forget our purpose, who we are in Christ, it happens to the best of us, yet we must press on. We can't miss just like the scripture says, in fact it's a declaration, "I'm not like the boxer who misses his punches, I will not miss, I shall not. Last verse; (v.27) I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. This verse just seals everything for me. Paul knew his back ground where he come from the things he did, so he was not just speaking to the Corinthians, but also to himself, as am I. The whole reason he used a runner or athlete as an example was to show the seriousness of our walk with Christ, it's not a game, we have to be examples of the faith, how can I preach Christ and not live Christ, this disqualifies me, and as in a race, just as in our Christian Faith, if we do not walk uprightly we will become disqualified. I don't want to be, how about you, I want to win and obtain the prize. So lets obtain that prize. Till next time, Blessings.

Psalm 91

Morning All,

I was reading Psalm 91 this morning and verse 3 struck me in a new way:

Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. (NIV)

The Message version reads:

That's right—he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards.

This made me think about how many traps and hazards can be in our mind. For example, we do something that doesn't bring the desired outcome and we call ourselves stupid (I did this yesterday!), but then if we don't nip the thought in the bud, the thought grows until it becomes a stronghold which is then a strong part of our mindset and will form the basis through which we perceive everything.

Going back to this verse I simply want to encourage us with the verses that come before:

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.

Resting in His presence is something that can be practised. This can be cultivated by reading the Bible (where you will also get a true reflection of who you are in Christ) and spedning time in worship and simply focusing your thoughts on Him. When our mind is focused on him we're less likely to entertain thoughts that keep us trapped.

This can be done while we're on the go and as part of our day but it can be really special to set time aside and intentionally rest in His presence.

Maybe it's something we all do and feedback to each other the next time we meet??

Have a great day!

Love me.xx

teaching night notes

Guys & Gals -

Hillsong's teaching night on Tuesday are just awesome.

Richard V. has been exploring the old testament, and how it relates to us today under the new covenant. It's been very insightful and I'd encourage you all to get the CDs/pod-casts and begin to attend once the sessions restart in September.

Here are Bret's notes from last Tuesday - awesome! Have a read, it's a bit long and these are Bret's personal notes, so feel free to post any questions/ comments, or get in touch with Bret to discuss some more.

One amazing promise

Hey guys

Just wanted to quickly share this scirpture that has been speaking to me this week:
Heb 8 (NLT)
10 But this is the new covenant I will make
with the people of Israel on that day,[c] says the Lord:

I will put my laws in their minds,
and I will write them on their hearts.

I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11 And they will not need to teach their neighbors,
nor will they need to teach their relatives,[d]

saying, ‘You should know the Lord.’
For everyone, from the least to the greatest,
will know me already.

12 And I will forgive their wickedness,
and I will never again remember their sins.”[e]

Isn't that an amazing scripture? This new covenant has been made with me, with you, through Christ Jesus.

I totally, absolutely, 100% believe that God is very much interested in every aspect of our lives, every detail -that he wants to know us personally, and he wants to be known by us.

I love this scripture, because God makes an oath here that he will write his law on my mind and my heart, and that I will know him!

Earlier on in Hebrews, Paul writes:
Heb 6 (NLT)
14
“I will certainly bless you,
and I will multiply your descendants beyond number.”[b]

15 Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.

16 Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. 17 God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. 18 So God has given both his promise and his oath.
These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. 20 Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Abraham received the oath of God, and waited patiently, and received the promise of God.

The link for me is this: in Heb 8:10 (first scripture above) God says he will put his laws in my mind, and write it in my heart...vs. 11 says that everyone, from the least to the greatest will know him...that is God's oath to us! his new Covenant! So like Abraham, who also received the oath of God, let us also wait patiently and receive the promise of God (Heb 6: 15)! The promise is that his law will be in our hearts and our minds, and that we will know him!

I am so excited about that - I am going to wait patiently like Abraham, and I know that I will receive the promise of knowing God. I'm honestly don't think I'll be able to top that in any time soon, or in the generations to come.

Who's waiting with me??

Love you guys!

The Story About Investment...

Hey Guys!

I feel like the parable of the talents (read below) has been biting me on the arse...um...behind... for the last couple of weeks....so I thought I'd share the pain! :)

I'm just going to ask outright - are you using your god-given talents, ability, resources to the max?? are you doing everything possible to make sure that you double the amount God has invested in you?

I was having a conversation with myself yesterday- yes i do have those every once in a while...it's good for my sanity - and I came to the conclusion that's it's actually righteous to use our talents to the max- to invest our resources, as the Message bible says...God commands it! Isn't that absolutely cool? And get this, it's okay to make a couple of mistakes, it's okay if you mess up in trying to invest that resource, but it's totally not okay to bury it, sit on the sidelines and wait for kingdom come.

So ladies and gentlemen...I believe I've just laid down a challenge - are you up for taking it on?

Love,

Ria

The Story About Investment

Matthew 25:14-30 (The Message)
14-18"It's also like a man going off on an extended trip. He called his servants together and delegated responsibilities. To one he gave five thousand dollars, to another two thousand, to a third one thousand, depending on their abilities. Then he left. Right off, the first servant went to work and doubled his master's investment. The second did the same. But the man with the single thousand dug a hole and carefully buried his master's money.

19-21"After a long absence, the master of those three servants came back and settled up with them. The one given five thousand dollars showed him how he had doubled his investment. His master commended him: 'Good work! You did your job well. From now on be my partner.'

22-23"The servant with the two thousand showed how he also had doubled his master's investment. His master commended him: 'Good work! You did your job well. From now on be my partner.'

24-25"The servant given one thousand said, 'Master, I know you have high standards and hate careless ways, that you demand the best and make no allowances for error. I was afraid I might disappoint you, so I found a good hiding place and secured your money. Here it is, safe and sound down to the last cent.'

26-27"The master was furious. 'That's a terrible way to live! It's criminal to live cautiously like that! If you knew I was after the best, why did you do less than the least? The least you could have done would have been to invest the sum with the bankers, where at least I would have gotten a little interest.

28-30"'Take the thousand and give it to the one who risked the most. And get rid of this "play-it-safe" who won't go out on a limb. Throw him out into utter darkness.'

no worries :)

Philip. 4: 6-7
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Did you know that one of the commandments of God is to not worry? Isn't that awesome?
Not worrying is actually Godly. That puts a whole new perspective on it, doesn't it?

I know what has been worrying me lately, and I'm sure that you know what has been worrying you! - but, its so refreshing to know that it's actually Godly for me to put down that worry. Isn't that lovely? :)

Will you join with me today and together we can lay our worries down? We can tear our eyes off of our immediate circumstances, and lift up our eyes! Lift up our eyes to the Lord (Psalm 121:1).

Will you agree with me in prayer?

Father, we come before and Thank you for your amazing grace and love and kindness towards us! Lord, we put down our burden, because your Word commands us to cast our cares onto you because you care for us!

Lord, we lay down our worries concerning [fill in with your concern] and pray that in this situation, that you will direct us, even as Proverbs 3 promises (6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take).
We thank you for your favour, which stands up to surround and protect us, like a shield! (Psalm 33:22 ).

Lord, you know my need in [fill in], I bring that before you. I thank you that you have provided for that need already - I thank you for it!

So Lord, today, we CHOSE to trust in your word, we chose to not worry and we chose to trust u to direct our path. Thank you for your peace which reigns and rules in our hearts, thank you for your peace which passes all human understanding. thank you for the plans and purposes for our lives. Thank you for your thoughts towards us, and that your eyes are upon us.

In Jesus' mighty name,
Amen!!

Love you guys! Have an amazing day! and walk in the divine peace of God!

be still...

Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God!'

I've been walking around for the last week, just whispering this scripture to myself ever so often, or maybe it was the scripture whispering to me.

God has promised that He will never leave us, but will be with us always...I've found that sometimes i forget this promise, i forget how great our God is and I forget that I have the Lord of all creation at my side. I'm running around, trying to solve my problems and meet my commitments and achieve things cause life is short, and i have deadlines etc etc...I think that's the best way to say it - I get lost in the 'etcetera' of life!

But then this scipture whispers itself to me- it never shouts, but it whispers, it lightly brushes against my mind, it tickles me like my baby brother when he's trying to wake me up on Saturday morning so we can watch cartoons!

It whispers- Ria, be still...and know that I am God...

cause in that stillness, a knowing comes. A revelation of my God, a refocusing away from my situations, unto him...and an understanding that I don't solve my problems - But it's God in me that does...a knowing that its only because of his grace that i can meet my commitments, meet those deadlines, find favour in unfavourable situations..and all the other etceteras of life.

Prov. 3: 4,5 says to acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your path...for me, that acknowledgement is started and sustained in the stillness- the stillness that comes before the 'knowing'...maybe that's why things seem to fall into place after- because i'm allowing him to direect my path...you?

Love you guys and I pray that God continues to bless us with a revelation of himself!

Love you guys and I pray that God continues to bless us with a revelation of himself!

reasons for prayer

This is from Helen...

My Dear Friends,

How are you?
Hope that you are blessed in everyway, friends im so happy to be apart of you joining in the body of Christ, you all bring your unique personalities and gifts, which God values so dearly forming body of Christ, no one can do it like you do.

As you maybe aware we have be meeting on Tuesday's at 9pm for prayer, prayer is such a privilege an important part of our Christian walk, below are the benefits of prayer, it would be so great if you could join us this Tuesday, if you are not able to please send in your prayer requests and we shall join you in prayer....

Four Reasons for Prayer

There are several good reasons to pray.

    • It is a great privilege. Can you think of any greater honour than to have an audience with the One who rules over ALL creation? We have been invited to talk with the one who put the stars in place. We are invited to seek counsel from the One who is truth and wisdom. We are invited to sit down with the One who knows all things. The Puritan John Preston lays it out very plainly,

Prayer is a privilege purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ. Christ died for this end, it cost him the shedding of his blood, so that we, through him, might have entrance to the throne of grace. And will you let such a privilege as this lie still? If you do, so far as is in you, you cause his blood to be shed in vain. For if you neglect the privileges gotten by that blood, you neglect the blood that procured them. [The Puritans on Prayer p.17]

Conversation is a part of any vital and growing relationship. We sometimes measure the quality of a marriage relationship by how well the couples communicates. Or to state it another way, one of the first things people point to as evidence that a marriage is in trouble is a lack of communication. The same is true for our relationship with the Father. True, honest, heartfelt conversation is a sign of a healthy relationship. A lack of conversation, or conversation only in public is a sign of a relationship in trouble.

    • We should pray because we are in a fierce battle. Constantly we are warned of the Devil's intention to neutralize and demoralize us. We are told that "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Eph. 6:10). We are in a battle and we need the help of God. The enemy has marshaled his armies . . .when we neglect prayer, we go into battle unarmed. Do you find it at all instructive that Jesus, the incarnate Son of God, found it necessary to pray? If He did not feel He could face the battle in His own strength . . neither should we.
    • Prayer is a deterrent to sin in our lives. In the quiet times of private, honest prayer God exposes the rationalizations and the excuses that we use to cater to sin. In prayer God holds a mirror up to our lives so we can see the way we really are. . .and repent.
    • Prayer makes a difference. I can't tell you how it "works" . . .I know that circumstances change when people pray. Diseases are sometimes healed, strength is imparted, guidance is given, hearts are softened, needs are met. I know that when I pray for others it helps them. But I also know that when I pray, I am changed.

The Content of Prayer
One of the most instructive parts of our text is in noticing what Paul asks on behalf of the Colossians. Paul does not focus on the material and temporal. He is not primarily concerned with comfort . . . He is concerned for their spiritual growth

Psalms 23:6

Psalms 23
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever
.

We're eternal beings living in a present day reality.

At some pt or the other other, we are all faced with this dilemma....balancing the long term, 'to come' hope, with our short term, present-day reality....it's a constant tug of war- do you know what I mean?

I like this verse for many reasons, but one of the reasons is because it paints a beautiful 'today' with an even more beautiful 'tomorrow'.

Today, as in this present life- goodness and love will follow me, you, us...everyday, for the rest of our lives!! and it's not just a possibility, its a 'surely'!!!

by tomorrow, i mean eternity...we're eternal beings, Ecc 3 says that God has placed eternity in the human heart. well this psalm addresses out eternal tomorrow as well: forever i will dwell in the house of the Lord!!

This is our promise, to have goodness and mercy following us today and all our our lives and to hold in our hearts that our dwelling will always be in the house of the lord. so live fully today, knowing that your tomorrows are established.

Colossians 1:18

From Sharon...

Morning Saints,

I want to bring very simple yet powerful truth. Colossians 1:18 reads:

'And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.'

If we choose, Christ can be supreme in all areas of our lives. Every weakness, thought, feeling, desire, accomplishment, strength, the frustrations, the minute worries that we think aren't even worth uttering (something i can struggle with), every relationship or what we perceive as lack of relationship, every job, every choice, every song, anything creative...the list goes on. I believe this translation includes 'might' because he won't override our freewill so in something things, he needs to be invited to be supreme.

Let's make a choice and invite him to sit on the throne in our lives becaus he is the head of the church; the head of us who make up his body. Let's not glorify our weaknesses or strengths or anything more than we need to. Instead let's allow him to have all glory in every area of our lives.

God bless
Sharon

Philippians

From Johnny....

As we are reading Philippians together lets look at some scripture b4 friday...

Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 19for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.d]">[d] 20I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26so that through my being with you again your joy in Christ Jesus will overflow on account of me.

A few ways this passage spks to me......

'Yes, and i will continue to rejoice' - rejoicing is a choice and a choice that needs to be made everyday.
'through your prayers' - reason why its so important for us to intercede for each other
'Christ will be exalted in my body + to live is Christ and to die is gain' - Matt 5:14-16 comes to mind

14
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
We are not living for ourselves anymore but for Christ. Choosing to love instead of hate, choosing to forgive instead of holding grudges.....freedom will come guys and we will be different and Jesus will shine through us and He will be glorified. living everyday to glorify him.

'I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far' which is better by far - Paul has an amazing revelation of what he and we have to come. When things get hard we need to keep our eyes on what we have to come......our momentary troubles dont compare to what we have ahead of us.
If you get the chance have a read over and see how God spks to you. Also if any of you, as you are reading Philippians, want to share a verse etc with the rest of us please do.

Awesome connect group

Hey Guys,

We had an awesome time on Friday!!
For those of you that didn’t get a chance to make it, we listened to a teaching from Beth Moore that was very inspiring and imparted a lot of wisdom.

Here are some of the key points that really stood out to me (feel free to add to these!!):

1. On how to pray…
  • Get a head-start on the day by getting up a few mins early and spending some time before God
  • Start off with Praise- be thankful, sing praises, tell him how much u love him and let him respond
  • Pour out: pour out your concerns and confessions (sins) etc. empty yourself
  • Pour in: after we’ve emptied ourselves, ask the Holy Spirit to enter in and just pour into you. Ask for him to fill every single aspect of our being! Every nook and cranny!
  • Pour forth: God pours in so that we can pour out what he has given us into our world….”out of our bellies shall rivers of living water”; “he blesses us to be a blessing”!
2. She also spoke about the fruit of the Spirit: Gala 5: 22. (think this session is the intro to that teaching- it was awesome!)

You guys are a real source of blessing and encouragement to me…and I must say how much I look forward to Friday nights! J

Let me know if you can make it to prayer on Tuesday (we’ve been having an awesome time on our Tuesday night prayer!). If not, I’m looking forward to seeing you guys on Friday!

Hillsong sisterhood!

Just passing on a message for Hillsong sisterhood:
This is just a reminder that we're looking for girls who love baking to contribute to the next Sisterhood Saturday (coming up on 7th March) by bringing in home made cookies. What fun!
So, if you know anyone who would love to get involved with this, pls forward this email on and ask them to email Pam Thompson (pamtompson@yahoo.com) to let her know how many cookies they will be bringing. We can provide the recipe or the girls can use their own.
Also, if you have not yet registered, you can do so on the My Church site: http://www.hillsongmychurch.co.uk/index.php/connect-me/hillsong-sisterhood This will be a great opportunity to bring a new person along and help them to get connected, so lets get the word out this week!

ok, i'm in :D

Back from India & Nepal!!

If India was amazing, Nepal was unbelievable!

God is building his church and the gates of hell shall not prevail.

Taking part in this mission trip was amazing on many fronts:

  1. Seeing the apostolic ministry at work as we worked with church pastors in Nepal to set up churches in the villages. The opportunity to be a part of it and take back the vision to my ‘world’ is also very exciting!
  2. To see the impact that the Kingdom of God has on the human life and spirit when it is established- some people are really broken and vulnerable. The church has the answer- are we telling them?? Are we being that ‘city on a hill that cannot be hidden’? Paul said, I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (Romans 1:16, NIV).
  3. We can all make a difference! We all have work to do to establish the Kingdom of God, and we have been appropriately equipped for our calling. My gifting might not be the ‘jazziest’, but I have it to help establish the Kingdom of God. “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.” (Romans 12:6, NIV)
  4. We don’t need that much to get by! Ladies…I survived without an in-door bathroom…need I say more???
